One Night At...The Venue
Press Release

Best In New Live Music Coming To The Isle Of Wight Once Again...
FRIDAY 14th APRIL, The Venue, Ryde Theatre, Isle of Wight
FRIDAY 14th APRIL, The Venue, Ryde Theatre, Isle of Wight
Following the huge success of the first event on 10th March, 'Friday night at The Venue' will never be the same. Curious Generation delivered on their promise to bring a night of top class new bands to the Isle of Wight’ (www.wightvibe.com). But, it doesn’t end there. London based, Curious Generation and island music college, Platform One once again are bringing a selection of the best new bands/artists in the UK to The Venue at Ryde Theatre on April 14th.

Rumour has it that the island is becoming a breeding ground for up and coming new bands and once more two island bands, selected by Platform One, will be supporting London’s finest. Acoustic act Cozy Flashbak kicks off the night followed by the much-hyped modern and thoughtful British Rock Band, Kody. Dishing out big songs, in a big noise with a big passion, Kody impressively clocked up 70 gigs last year, resulting in a deal with the new Isle of Wight based label, Tidal and have now ended up supporting the best of the UK music scene. The ‘No frills, full on rock 'n' roll’ of Rotating Leslie shows that the Londoners are one of the music scenes sleeping giants. Described by MTV as ‘Magical, Mystical, Bewitching’ and with NME lauding their ‘jangly, harmonic, gritty art pop’, Rotating Leslie have supported some of the music scenes most exciting bands including The Subways and Goldie Lookin Chain. Rotating Leslie play on the back of their self released debut album 'Infrequent Mild Peril’ with fresh and exciting well crafted songs which are life-affirmingly good, but what else do you expect after being expelled from various schools, arrested and nearly driven insane by LSD?

The headliner could not be more exciting. Vincent Vincent and the Villains are quite simply the hottest band in London, if not the whole of the UK. In their own words ‘It’s sweet rock and roll and it’s getting louder. Soothing the city, slaking it’s terrible thirst, gentling it’s pains. The sound you love – the rocking bawl of a gang you always wanted to be in’. In Radio One’s words ‘Listen to this piece of music, it’ll change your life…as we introduce you to Vincent Vincent and the Villains’ – Zane Lowe. You must not miss the most naturally talented cool cool cool popular rhythm group on the scene today as ‘…it’s slick stuff indeed from the remarkable Vincent Vincent and the Villains’ – Mojo.
Curious Generation which has strong links to the Island are committed to bringing top level acts back to the Island and helping the growth of new music on the island by supporting the Islands Music College, Platform One.
Curious Generation’s ‘One night at…The Venue’ returns on April 14th. Book early to avoid disappointment.
